Help make the school shine bright, Teens get a night of fun for themselves and their friends, and more chances to compete
Spring Clean (Saturday 4/23 starting at 1:00): Please help us Spring Clean the dojang. Dusting, wiping, washing, and food drink for the helpers! Volunteers greatly appreciated. We will provide cleaning materials but if someone has another 10' ladder it will greatly help. Teens (Saturday 5/14, 4:00-6:00pm): Join us on Saturday May 14 from 4-6pm for Taekwon-do, pizza and fun! Bring a friend from outside Taekwon-do if you want, or come and join your friends already here! Wear your regular clothes and bring your uniform, if your friend has not done Taekwon-do before he or she can take a class with you, they should just bring something to move around in. There is no charge for this special event but please RSVP so we know how much pizza to order. On Saturday, June 11 all students are invited to participate in a team battle of Master Meany versus Master Giletti. Whose team will you be on? Stay tuned for details ... Competitions: Saturday 4/30 AAU New Jersey District Championship Rider University, Lawrenceville Township, NJ Hosted by Master Ballon of FastKix Taekwondo Olympic sparring, point sparring, and patterns Register online at www.tourneyreg.net. Competitors will need AAU certification from aautaekwondo.org. Registration deadline for this event is 4/22. This competition does not include breaking but these schools do our kind of patterns. Black belts interested in coaching will need AAU coach's certification. Sunday 6/5 11th Annual Metro Open Taekwondo Championship SMG Sportsplex, Metuchen, NJ Hosted by Master Mohamed Elshikh of International Martial Arts Olympic sparring, board breaking, and patterns Registration at http://www.katkda.com/tournament.php scroll down to the Metro Open. We attended this competition last June and the facility is spacious and airy with capacity for many more people than were there. Master Elsheikh attended our competition in April 2015. Sunday 6/12 Somerset County Open Branchburg Sports Complex, Branchburg, NJ Hosted by Somerville Martial Arts Academy Point sparring and patterns Pre-registration deadline 5/18 See Master Meany for registration information. Our Facilities
Glen Ridge Taekwon-do on Glenridge Ave at Greenwood.
Classroom 1, Kim. Our biggest classroom, used for Adults and Juniors.
Classroom 2, Choi. Used mostly for Mighty Lions classes.
Classroom 3: The Studio. Used for Mighty Lions class overflow, and special small programs.
We have a parking lot available for everyone coming to the school
The changing rooms have showers, and we have a gender-neutral bathroom, plus individual-use changing rooms.
The waiting area has free wifi and looks out onto Kim. It has a closed circuit camera to see into Choi.
